Shruti Foods

You can find us in Dumduma, right near the kids' hospital. It’s a busy little area because of all the families coming and going from the clinic. We started Shruti Foods here a few years back. The building we are in isn't very large, but it serves our needs just fine. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just focus on our daily tasks and making sure the food items are packed correctly. Most of our day is spent checking the stock or talking to the delivery drivers who stop by. We have a few old ceiling fans that keep the air moving, but it still gets quite hot in the middle of the day. Sometimes people who are waiting at the hospital wander over to see what we are doing. We end up chatting with them for a bit. It’s nice to have that kind of connection with the neighborhood. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track everything. We mostly just use a notebook and a pen. It’s easier that way and we don't have to worry about the internet failing. My cousin helps out when things get really busy. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. It’s just a plain front with our name on it. We try to finish our work before the sun goes down so we can head home to our families. It’s a decent way to make a living in this part of town.
