About Arvind Satpathy Photography – Photography in Bhubaneswar
I've been working out of Sailashree Vihar for a while now. Most people around Chandrasekhar Pur know the spot. It isn't a huge studio with fancy lights and coffee machines, just a place where I keep my gear and meet people. I started taking photos because I liked how things looked through a lens, nothing more complicated than that. Some days it's busy, some days I'm just cleaning lenses or looking at old prints. My neighbors drop by sometimes to chat about the local traffic or the weather. It gets quite hot here in the afternoons, so I usually keep the shutters halfway down. People ask me what kind of photos I do, and I just tell them I take whatever they need. I don't have a big team or anything, it's mostly just me and occasionally a cousin helps out when there is a big event. We don't do anything too fancy, just regular shots that look clear. The shop is easy to find if you're in the area. It’s been a few years since I set this up. I remember when I first moved the desk in, the paint was still wet. Now the walls have some scuffs and there's a stack of old frames in the corner. That’s just how it goes when you’re actually working in a place every day. I like the neighborhood, it feels like home and the people are generally nice to deal with.
