Kalyan Photography

Kalyan Photography is based out of Laxmi Sagar. It’s not a massive studio with a huge staff; it’s more of a personal space where we handle all our photography work. The area is relatively quiet compared to the main city hubs, which gives us a bit of room to breathe. When you step inside, you’ll see tripods, some backdrops that have seen better days, and plenty of camera bags. Photography sounds like it’s all about glamour, but most of the time it’s just us sitting in front of a computer editing or waiting for the light to hit a certain way. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy receptionist. Usually, it’s just one of us answering the phone or showing someone the prints. We’ve been at Laxmi Sagar for a while and have become a part of the local scenery. Sometimes the studio is a mess of cables and light stands, especially after a long shoot. We don’t try to pretend we are some high-fashion agency. We just like taking pictures and making sure they look decent. It’s a small business, and we treat it like one. People from the neighborhood know where we are, and we like that familiarity. It’s a practical way to work, focusing on the images rather than the image of the business itself. Every day is a bit different, depending on what people want us to capture.
