Vindhyachal Bhavan Canteen

Working at the canteen in Vindhyachal Bhavan means we see a lot of office workers every day. We are located at Shop No 3 in the building complex at Arera Hills. It’s a busy area of Bhopal, especially with all the government offices and the mall nearby. We mostly serve tea, snacks, and lunch plates to the people who work in the building. The mornings start very early for us because we have to get the tea brewing and the snacks ready before the first shift arrives. It’s a lot of work in a small kitchen space. We have some tables where people can sit and eat quickly before heading back to their desks. The atmosphere is always noisy with the sound of spoons and people talking about their work. We try to keep the food simple, like poha for breakfast or a basic thali for lunch. It’s not a fancy restaurant, just a place to get a hot meal that tastes like home. On rainy days, the demand for samosas and tea goes up like crazy and we can barely keep up. We often run out of things by late afternoon. My staff and I have been doing this for a while, so we know most of the regulars and how they like their tea. It’s a steady routine. We don’t have a menu that changes much, but people seem to like the consistency of what we serve. It keeps us on our feet all day.
