Poonam Metal

Our workshop, Poonam Metal, is at No-43/C in Sector-C of the Mandideep Industrial Area. We are located near the Hpg Factory, which is a big landmark around here. Working in Mandideep means dealing with a lot of heat and the smell of metal and machinery. Our building is a simple shed where we do all our work. We have some old machines that we’ve used for a long time, and they still do the job just fine. There is always a pile of metal scraps in the corner that we eventually sort through. We don't have air conditioning, just some big fans that move the hot air around while we work. It’s the kind of place where you get grease on your clothes within the first ten minutes of the day. We mostly make small parts or fix metal items that people bring to us. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic when we have three or four different jobs going on at once, but we manage to get through it. We don't use any fancy computer systems; we mostly just remember where everything is or write it down on the wall. The road outside is usually full of dust and big trucks, so we keep the doors mostly closed when the wind is high. It’s just a plain metal shop where we put in our hours and go home tired. It is simple work but it is what we know how to do.
