Laxmi Steel

You can find us at Plot No 22 in Sector F of Govindpura. This part of town is very industrial, so there are a lot of workshops and small factories all around us. We have been here since the area started getting busy. Our building is mostly just a large space for storing steel. We have different sizes of bars and sheets stacked up in various corners. It’s a bit of a maze if you don’t know where you are going. The walls are mostly bare and the lighting is just what we need to see what we are doing. We don’t spend much time on making things look pretty. People come here because they know we have the metal they need for their projects. The trucks come and go throughout the morning, delivering new stock or taking orders away. It gets quite loud when the cranes are moving things around, but that is the sound of work getting done. We usually have a tea break in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is at its peak. There is a small stall down the street that makes good tea, so one of us usually walks over to get a few cups. The floor is always a bit dirty from the metal shavings and the dust from the yard, but we sweep it out every evening before closing up. It’s a plain, honest place to work and we like it that way. We have a few old calendars hanging on the wall to keep track of the date.
