Modern Steel Traders

Hamidia Road is always packed, and being at Plot No. 100 in the Categorised Market means we see a lot of it. Modern Steel Traders is right in the middle of all that chaos in New Kabarkhana. It’s a tight fit sometimes with all the vehicles trying to squeeze through Jumerati, but we make it work. We’ve got the gates open early, usually before the sun really gets hot. The shop floor is filled with whatever we’ve got in stock that week. Sometimes it’s a lot of one thing, and other times it’s a bit of everything. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a lobby. You just walk in and talk to whoever is standing near the desk or the stacks. Working in a place like this, you learn to talk over the noise of the traffic outside. The guys are usually busy with the crane or just moving stuff by hand if it's small. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. We’ve seen the market change over the years, more shops popping up and the roads getting narrower with more people, but Plot 100 stays pretty much the same. It's just a place for steel and hard work. No one wears a suit here, just boots and work clothes that get dirty by ten in the morning. That’s just life in the Kabarkhana. We have been here for a long time now.
