Kismat Taxi

Kismat Taxi operates out of my house at G/111 in Mayur Vihar, which is over in the Ashoka Garden area. We are quite close to the Saklani Masjid, so that is usually the landmark I give people when they are trying to find us for the first time. It isn't a big commercial office, just a room we use to take bookings and keep the car keys in a drawer. Most of the time our cars are out on the road anyway with passengers. We handle a lot of local trips around Bhopal, like taking people to the railway station or the airport for early flights. Sometimes families book us for weddings or to go visit relatives in nearby towns for the weekend. The phone rings at all sorts of hours and we try to answer even if it’s late at night. Managing the drivers can be a bit of a headache when someone calls in sick or a car needs a repair suddenly. We keep a simple logbook on the table to track who is where and how much fuel was used. The neighborhood is mostly families, so things are quiet until the morning rush starts and people head to work. We don't have a website or anything like that, most people just have our number saved in their phones from before. It’s a lot of driving and making sure the cars stay clean. My nephew helps me with the accounts on the weekends when he is free.
