You can find our workplace at 8-9 in the Mansinghka Building, right by the busy Gangapur Chouraha. Because of the location, there is always a lot of noise from the intersection, but we have grown used to it. We work with textiles, specifically the texturing part of the process, so there are always bags of yarn and rolls of fabric around. The building itself has some history to it, with high ceilings and walls that could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We do not really care about that though; it is a place for working, not for looking pretty. The machines can get very loud when they are all running at the same time. Most of our day is spent watching the tension on the threads and making sure the quality is consistent. It is not a very glamorous job. The floor is usually covered in a bit of white lint, and the main desk is always buried under ledgers and order forms. We have a few regular clients who stop by to discuss their requirements. Most of the time, we are just focusing on meeting the production schedule for the week. Being near the chouraha makes it easy for people to find the building, even if the traffic is a mess. We usually just take a rickshaw to work to avoid the parking trouble. It is a straightforward, no-nonsense business and we spend our time just keeping the machines going.
