Manglam Store

Manglam Store is located near the Sarkari Darwaja on Pur Road. We are in the middle of Bazar No 2. It’s a very busy part of town and the noise never really stops. I’ve had this store for a long time. We sell things people need for their kitchens like spices, rice, and oil. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling and I have to use a wooden pole to reach the stuff at the top. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes but I know where everything is kept. The floor is old stone and it’s worn down from all the feet walking over it. I know most of my customers by their first names. They come in to buy a few things and stay to talk about the weather or their families. I keep a big ledger on the desk to write down the credit. In Bazar No 2, everyone knows everyone. I open the shop early in the morning when the air is still cool. By noon, it gets very stuffy inside. I have a small stool where I sit when there are no customers. I watch the cows and the bikes go past the door. It’s a simple business. I just try to keep the shelves full and the floor swept. That’s enough for me. It’s not a big fancy supermarket, just a place where you can get your daily items.
