Running Vikrant Engineers out of 2, Gopinath Industrial Estate is always busy. Being near Shyam Chemicals means there is always something going on nearby. We are right off N.H. 8 in Odhav, so the sound of trucks is basically the background music for our entire day. It gets dusty, but that is just how it goes in an industrial area. We spend most of our time out on the floor or dealing with parts. The estate is a bit crowded, especially when people park their lorries in the wrong spots, but we manage. My father always said being near the highway was good for business, and he was right about that. We have a small office space, but mostly it’s just tools and machinery everywhere. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we all just sit outside and wait. It gives us a chance to talk to the guys from the other units. We’ve been at this address for years and know all the shortcuts to avoid the worst traffic on the main road. Odhav has changed a lot, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We don’t go in for anything fancy here. It is just hard work, grease, and getting things fixed. If you come by, you’ll probably find us covered in a bit of oil, but that’s just a normal Tuesday for us.
