Jaytech Engineering Co., is located at 217/B in the Chitra GIDC area. If you’ve ever been to this part of the industrial estate, you know it’s all about manufacturing and hard work. Our building is a standard industrial shed. It’s got high ceilings and big metal doors that we roll up every morning to let the breeze in. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, especially when all the machines are running at once. We are surrounded by other workshops, so there is a constant sound of hammering and metal clashing from the neighbors. It’s a busy atmosphere. We have a small team here, and everyone knows their job. The office part is just a tiny corner with a desk and a phone that rings more often than I’d like. Most of our time is spent on the shop floor, though. We’ve got stacks of raw materials in one corner and finished parts in another. The floor is concrete and has plenty of scuff marks from moving heavy crates around. We aren't big on appearances here. The focus is always on the machines and getting the orders out on time. We usually eat lunch together on the workbench, just talking about the day or the news. It’s a gritty, loud place, but it’s where we feel most comfortable. It’s just how things are in GIDC.
