Swadeshi Granite

We are located at Plot 130 in the GIDC area, right opposite Nani Khodiar. Swadeshi Granite is all about the raw material. Working in the GIDC means we are surrounded by other industries and lots of activity. Being across from Nani Khodiar makes it easier to tell people where to go. Granite is heavy and tough to work with, so our yard is full of big slabs and the machinery we need to move them. It is not a quiet place. There is always the sound of something being loaded or moved around. We spend our days out in the open or in the sheds, making sure the granite is sorted correctly. We don't have a polished front office. We usually meet people right where the stone is kept. It’s more honest that way. You can see the colors and the textures in the natural light. We’ve been at Plot 130 for a good while, and we know the GIDC layout like the back of our hands. Some days are long, especially when we have big shipments coming in from the quarries. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the stone is handled right and the yard stays somewhat tidy. It is a gritty, hardworking environment and that suits us just fine. We show up, move the stone, and make sure the orders are ready for the trucks to pick up when they arrive. That is the daily life here.
