Being at Plot No.1 in the Jhagadia GIDC means we are right at the start of the estate. It is a massive area and Rmg Alloy Steel Limited takes up a good chunk of space here. The work involves a lot of heat and heavy lifting. You can hear the sounds of the plant from the road. We deal with alloy steel every day, so it’s not exactly a quiet environment. The guys on the floor are used to the noise and the routine. We’ve seen the industrial estate grow a lot over the years. Valia Road gets pretty busy with trucks coming and going all hours of the day. Inside, it’s mostly about managing the furnaces and making sure the metal is right. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. If a batch isn't right, we just redo it. The offices are just basic rooms with some desks and old filing cabinets. Most of our life happens out where the steel is being handled. It gets hot, especially in the afternoons, but that is the nature of working with metal. We have a lot of local workers from Fulwadi and nearby who have been with us for years. We just keep our heads down and do the work that is required of us. No one here wears a suit unless they absolutely have to for some legal thing. It is a grit and sweat kind of place where we just focus on the steel and getting through the day's production.
