Asian Tube Industries

Asian Tube Industries is tucked away in the Gidc area at Plot No. C 1, B/1924. Being in an industrial zone like this means there’s never a moment of silence. There’s always a machine humming or a truck reversing somewhere nearby. We deal mostly with tubes of all kinds. The building is basically a large shed with some office space carved out in the corner. It gets dusty very quickly, no matter how much we sweep the floors. I spend a lot of my time walking between the racks to check the stock. The Gidc layout can be a bit like a maze if you don’t know your way around. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which is pretty much the most important piece of equipment we own during the winter. We don’t really have a big corporate structure. It’s just us and the tubes. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a big order, but usually, we’re out by sunset. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we rely a lot on the natural light coming through the big doors. It’s a plain, hardworking place where we don't worry about appearances. We just focus on the items we have and getting them ready for whoever needs them. Life here in Gidc is pretty much the same day in and day out, but we like it that way. It's a bit noisy, but you get used to it.
