Bhusawar is a quiet town, and our school fits right into the pace of things here. We are located in the Bharatpur area, and it’s a place where everyone pretty much knows everyone else. The school building has been standing here for some time now. It’s not a very complicated setup. We have the usual classrooms and a bit of space for the children to run around during their break. In the winter mornings, the fog can be quite thick around Bharatpur, so the start of the day is always a bit slow and chilly. Our staff usually comes in early to get things ready before the kids show up from the surrounding houses. We don't spend much time on big speeches or fancy events. Most of the day is just spent going through the books and making sure the children are actually learning something useful. Sometimes the cows wander by the gate, and you can hear the sounds from the local market if the wind is blowing the right way. It’s a very local feel here. Most of the teachers live just a short walk away, so we are all part of the same neighborhood. We try to keep the place tidy, though the dust from the Rajasthan roads always finds its way in. It’s just how things are in this part of the country. We just do our jobs and go home. On rainy days, the ground can get a bit muddy, but the kids don't seem to mind much as long as they get to see their friends.
