Carmel School

If you walk down Barari Road in Bhagalpur, you’ll find us right there in the Barari area. The school has been part of this community for a long time now. The building is large and has that old feel to it, with wide hallways and heavy doors. In the mornings, the whole place is buzzing with energy. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood filtering through the gates. We have a lot of rooms to keep track of, and sometimes the dust from the road outside settles on the windowsills. We spend our time checking schedules and making sure the classrooms are ready. It isn't always perfect. Sometimes a lightbulb flickers or a desk wobbles, but we just fix it and keep moving. There’s a lot of history in these walls, you can almost feel it when it’s quiet after everyone leaves. We don't use a lot of fancy technology for the sake of it; we just use what works for us. The staff room is usually full of half-finished tea and stacks of papers. We know the local shopkeepers and the rickshaw drivers who wait outside. It’s just a steady, working environment. We show up, do our jobs, and try to make sure everything is handled right. Carmel School is just a staple of Barari, and we’re just the people who keep it running.
