Bahadurpur Agri Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at house number 14 in Bahadurpurkheda Buzurg. It is a small village and our office is right in the middle of where all the action happens. We are a collective of farmers who wanted to handle our own business instead of leaving it to others. There is nothing corporate about how we run things. You’ll usually find us sitting on the porch or in the main room of the house, surrounded by bags of seeds or samples of the latest crop. The village life is slow but the farm work is constant. We have to deal with the local roads which aren't always in the best shape, especially for the bigger trucks during monsoon. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just walking over to each other’s houses to discuss what we’re going to plant next. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things get a bit disorganized, but we always find a way to make it work in the end. We don’t use any marketing fluff because we don’t need to. Everyone here knows who we are and what we’re doing. We focus on the practical side of agriculture, like getting the right fertilizers and finding the best time to sell the yield. It’s hard, dusty work, but it’s what keeps the community going. We just take it one day at a time and do our best to get things moved.
