Zenith Leather Works

Our workshop, Zenith Leather Works, is located on the 3rd floor at No. 2/ A on Lalmasjid Road. To find us, you have to go behind the Garden City Lodge near the Old Bamboo Bazar Road in Shivajinagar. It is a long climb up those stairs, but once you get here, you will see we are busy with leather goods. The building is old and the hallway is a bit dark, but the workshop has decent light from the windows. We do a lot of hand stitching and cutting here. There are scraps of leather in every corner and the smell of glue is pretty strong some days. We do not have a receptionist or anything like that. If the door is open, you just walk in and talk to us. Most of the guys have been working with leather their whole lives. We sit on low stools for hours working on belts or bags. It is tiring on the back, but it is what we do. Shivajinagar is a loud place with all the markets nearby, so there is always a background noise of honking and people. We keep the radio on sometimes to listen to music while we work. We are not a big factory with shiny equipment. We are just a small group of people making things one at a time. It is honest work and it keeps us going.
