Alaina Leather Wear

Our place, Alaina Leather Wear, is located at 35 Khadarpet. If you know anything about this area, you know it is famous for being a hub of activity and trade. The street is always buzzing with people moving goods and talking shop, and we are right in the thick of it. Number 35 is a modest spot, but it is where all the work happens. Dealing with leather means there is always a certain smell in the air and a bit of a mess on the floor from cutting and sorting, but that is just how it goes. We don't try to hide the fact that this is a working shop rather than a showroom. The walls are lined with materials and there is usually a radio playing somewhere in the background to keep the mood light while we work. Khadarpet can get incredibly hot in the summer, and the narrow lanes don't catch much of a breeze, so we just drink a lot of water and keep the fans going. We have been doing this for a long time and we don't feel the need to be flashy about it. People know where we are if they need us. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of the pieces and making sure the stitching is right. It is a lot of manual work, but it feels good to see the finished products before they head out.
