Wonder Woods

Over in Koramangala, at No. 773 on the 80ft Road, that’s where you’ll find Wonder Woods. We’re right opposite Umerkot Restaurant. 4th Block is a pretty nice area, though the parking can be a real pain some days. We’ve been in this spot for a good while. Inside, it’s mostly wood products. We handle all kinds of things, from small decor to larger furniture pieces. The shop has a specific smell—a mix of polish and fresh cut timber. I think it's a good smell. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the wood. People come in looking for something specific for their house, and we try to help them find it or figure out if we can make it. It’s a lot of talking and sketching ideas. Sometimes we disagree on how a finish should look, but we figure it out eventually. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when the lunch crowd arrives at the restaurant across the street. Being in Koramangala, we get a lot of different people coming through. Some are students, some are families who’ve lived here forever. We just stay open and do our work. It’s not a high-pressure place. We like the neighborhood and we like working with our hands. If the 80ft Road isn't too jammed, it's a nice place to spend the day. We just keep the shop tidy and wait for the next person.
