Adams Furnitures is our shop at 22-23 Richard Square in the Shivajinagar area. It's a busy part of town and there is always something going on right outside our door. When you walk in, the first thing you probably notice is the heavy smell of wood and maybe some polish or glue. We have been making furniture here for quite a while now. The floors are almost always covered in sawdust no matter how much we sweep up. It’s just the nature of the job. We have stacks of timber leaning against the walls and half-finished chairs or tables sitting around in various stages. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and mirrors. People usually just come in and look at what we are currently working on at the bench. Shivajinagar is a crowded place so getting deliveries in and out can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We just deal with the traffic and the noise as it comes. Most of our tools are old but they still work fine for what we do. We spend a lot of time measuring and cutting and then putting things together by hand. It’s hard on the back sometimes but it’s good to see something finished at the end of the week. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city, just a place where people can get a solid piece of furniture made. That’s what we do.
