White Metals

You can find us at Mani Majra, number 68, right on the Kalka Road in Ganganagar. It’s a noisy part of town because of all the trucks heading toward Chandigarh. White Metals has been operating out of this workshop for years. The walls are stained from all the work and the ceiling is high to let the heat out. We handle a lot of different metal pieces every day. It’s heavy work and your hands get pretty dirty by lunch. We usually take a break when the sun is at its highest. There’s a small shop nearby where we grab something to eat. The traffic outside never seems to stop, especially on the Chandigarh-Kalka stretch. You get used to the sound after a few weeks. It’s mostly just metal clanging and the sound of engines. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in the back near the big workbench. We don’t use any special software to track things, just a big notebook that’s seen better days. It works for us. The floor is always covered in small scraps of metal that we sweep up at the end of every week. It’s a simple life and we like the routine of it. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so we all know each other. It's a tough job but it is what it is.
