We are located at No. 148 Mamulpet, right at the entrance of Avenue Road. If you know Bangalore, you know how packed this area is. Near Raja Market, it's just a sea of people and carts all day long. Sha Premchand Prakashchand Co. is our family business name. We deal in various goods, mostly wholesale. The shop is old, with high ceilings and wooden shelves that have been there forever. We don't have fancy lights or a modern layout. It’s mostly stacks of products and ledgers. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who come in from other towns to buy stock. Avenue Road is famous for its chaos, and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes it takes twenty minutes just to move a few meters outside. We keep our doors open and just deal with the heat and the noise. Most of our day is spent counting items and making sure the bills are correct. We’ve seen many shops come and go, but we stay right here at the entrance. It’s a simple way of life, focusing on the trade and making sure our regulars get what they came for. We usually have some tea around midday and keep working until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s a traditional way of doing business that hasn't changed much over the years. We just keep the tally going in the books.
