Welfare Officer

You can find us at Inchara Working Women Hostel, specifically at No.18 on the 1st Main in Maruthinagar. This is right in the Madiwala area of Bangalore, which is always crowded and moving. I work as the Welfare Officer here. It’s not a desk job where you just sit around all day. There is always someone knocking on the door with a question or a problem that needs fixing. The hostel is a simple place meant for women working in the city, and my job is to keep things running as smoothly as possible. The office is small and usually has a few files stacked up on the corner of the desk. Maruthinagar is a loud neighborhood with a lot of shops and traffic, so there is always background noise. We don't have any polished corporate brochures or big missions. We just deal with the water issues, the security schedules, and the rent collection. Some days are stressful when something breaks down, and other days are just quiet and routine. I spend a lot of time on my feet, checking the rooms or talking to the residents. It’s a practical kind of work that doesn't need much explanation. We’ve been at this location for a good while, and most people in the area know the hostel. It’s a bit of a hectic life sometimes, but it’s what we do here every single day.
