Vma Transport

I've spent most of my mornings here at Vma Transport watching the traffic pile up on Government College Road. Peenya Industrial Area is a loud place, but you get used to it after a few years. We are over at number 11 in the 1st Stage. It’s a bit of an older building. Usually, there’s a lot of dust from the road and the industrial work going on nearby. We started this because there was a lot of stuff needing to be moved in the suburb. Most days it’s just us handling the paperwork and making sure the drivers know where they’re heading. The office isn't fancy. There’s a small desk and some old chairs. Sometimes the tea stall down the street is the only quiet spot we find. People stop by asking for directions since we're near the government college. We just point them the right way. It’s a straight-forward job. I remember when we first moved into this spot. The walls were a different color and the roof leaked a bit during the monsoon. We fixed most of that up ourselves. The neighborhood has grown a lot, with more shops popping up on the corners. Sometimes the electricity acts up when everyone in the industrial area is running their heavy equipment at once. You just learn to take a break then. We keep a small kettle in the corner for making coffee when things slow down. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy and we like the people we meet.
