Akash Transmissions

You can find Akash Transmissions over at Rajajinagar, number 298. It’s a bit of a noisy workshop because there is always some machine running or someone banging on a part. We specialize in transmissions, which is tricky work that takes a lot of patience. The floor is usually stained with oil no matter how much we try to clean it. It’s just the nature of working with gearboxes and engines. I’ve got a couple of mechanics who have been with me since the start. They are good at what they do, even if they don't say much. We get a lot of older cars coming in that need a lot of attention. Sometimes we have to wait weeks for a specific part to show up, which frustrates the customers, but we can't do much about that. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside. It’s just a garage door and a small counter where we handle the bills. We don't use any high-tech systems for our bookkeeping, just a big ledger and a pen. Rajajinagar is a busy neighborhood, so there is always someone popping in to ask a question about their car making a weird noise. We try to give them a straight answer without any fluff. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We've been here for years now and seen the whole area change around us. It's just home to us. It is what it is.
