Vivek Paying Guest

Running a place like Vivek Paying Guest at 252 Vidyaranyapura University Road keeps us on our feet all day long. It’s a big house, and we’ve got people coming and going at all hours because of the university nearby. There’s always something that needs fixing, like a leaky tap in one of the bathrooms or a lightbulb that’s flickered out in the hallway. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen making sure there’s enough food for everyone, and the smell of rice and dal usually fills the whole ground floor by lunchtime. It’s not like a hotel; it’s more like a very crowded home. We have to keep an eye on the water levels in the tank and make sure the gate is locked at night. Sometimes the students get a bit loud when they’re studying late or just talking, so we have to remind them to keep it down for the neighbors. The furniture is simple, just beds and some cupboards, nothing fancy. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many people living together, there’s always a pair of shoes or a bag left in the wrong place. It’s a lot of work managing the bills and making sure everyone is doing okay, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years now. We just try to make sure there is enough hot water and that the food is served on time.
