We’ve been here at 8 Jaya Chamarajendra Road for quite a while now. Dealing with iron and steel is a messy job, really. There’s always dust and the smell of metal in the air around JC Road. Most days start early when the trucks pull in. We spend a lot of time just moving things around or checking what’s in the yard. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a place where we get work done. People come in looking for specific sizes or weights, and we try to find what they need in the piles. Sometimes it’s quiet, but usually, there is some kind of noise from the street or the machinery. The building isn't new, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it works for us. We know most of the people around here by now. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and loading, and your hands never really stay clean for long. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything is where it should be. The traffic on JC Road can be a nightmare in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy loading finished before that starts. It’s just how things go here at Visveswaraya Iron Steel Ltd. We just keep at it day after day, handling the metal and talking to the regulars who drop by. It’s not complicated, just steady work in a noisy part of town.
