Vinayaga Departmental Stores

Vinayaga Departmental Stores is located at 67/32 on Kathreguppe Road. We are right in the heart of Banashankari, which is a place we’ve called home for a long time. The store isn't anything spectacular to look at from the outside, but we carry pretty much everything a family needs for their monthly groceries. We have big sacks of rice and all the spices you’d expect to find in a local kitchen. My brother and I manage the stock, and sometimes my nephew helps out after his college classes. It’s a local business through and through. We know when the milk arrives and when the bread man comes by, so we can tell you what’s freshest. The lighting inside is a bit dim in the back corner, but we know where everything is kept. Customers usually just walk in and ask for what they need instead of searching the aisles themselves, and we’re happy to help. We don’t use any big marketing tricks or have sales every other day. We just set a fair price and stick to it. Sometimes the delivery bikes block the entrance for a minute, so you might have to squeeze past to get inside. Running this place keeps us busy from dawn till dusk, but it’s good to be a part of the daily routine for the folks living on Kathreguppe Road. We try to keep things simple and just keep the shelves stocked for everyone.
