Vijayanagara Paying Guest Hostel

Our hostel is at 898 Vijaya Nagar and it has been here for a good few years now. The building is not new but it stays cool even when it is hot outside. We have different rooms, some have two beds and others have three. We provide the mattresses but most people bring their own pillows and blankets because they like their own things. The dining hall has three long tables. Every morning we get milk delivered early for the tea. I spend a lot of my time talking to the vegetable sellers down the street to get the best price for the kitchen. Sometimes the Wi-Fi acts up when there are too many people using it at night, so we have to reset the router manually. The street outside is usually busy with people going to the market nearby. We have a washing machine on the roof, but you have to wait your turn during the weekends. The stairs are a bit narrow, so moving big suitcases is a bit of a struggle for the new guests. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one painted on the wall. Most people find us by asking around the neighborhood or from friends. It is mostly students and some office workers staying here. We keep the place running every day, making sure the trash is cleared and the floors are swept twice. It is a lot of work but it keeps us busy.
