You can find us at 112 Lalbagh West, right across from the Minerva Hotel. It’s a very famous spot, so nobody gets lost. The shop is filled with all kinds of wooden things. We have chairs, tables, and those big cupboards that last forever. The smell of wood and varnish is always in the air. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to display as much as we can. The road outside is always full of people going to the hotel for food. Sometimes they wander in after their meal just to look around. We’ve been at this location for a long time. The building is old but sturdy. We do some of the polishing in the back. It gets dusty, so we are always cleaning the surfaces. We don't use fancy lighting to make things look better than they are. What you see is what you get. We talk to every customer who walks in, even if they are just looking. Moving the heavy furniture is the toughest part. We have a couple of guys who help with the loading. Lalbagh is beautiful, but the traffic here is no joke. We usually open up early and stay until late evening. It’s a simple life of selling furniture to the local people and whoever else stops by while visiting the area. Vijayalakshmi Furniture is a family name we have used for years. We don't do much delivery ourselves, but we know local guys with tempos.
