Think Timber

If you come down Varthur Main Road to Ramagondana Halli, you’ll find us at number 147. We’re right there in Thubrahalli. The place always smells like fresh wood, which is one of the better parts of working here. We have stacks of timber and planks all over the place. It’s a bit messy sometimes with the sawdust and the offcuts, but that’s just the nature of the business. People come in looking for specific types of wood, and we show them what we have in the yard. It’s physical work, moving things around and making sure the storage is organized. The traffic on Varthur road is usually a mess, so we hear the horns all day long. We just ignore it and keep going. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It’s more of a practical space where you can see the material for what it is. We talk to the carpenters and the builders who stop by. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, so we know most of the regular faces. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We just write down orders in our ledgers and load up the trucks. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside, but it’s what we do. We try to be fair and just get the wood out to whoever needs it. There isn't much more to it than that. We just keep moving the stacks.
