Vijay Welding Works & Grill Works

We operate out of 76-B in Rammohan Puram, over in the Changodar area. Most of the work we do involves welding and making metal grills for windows or gates. It’s a bright and noisy shop because of the welding arcs and the grinding machines. We spend most of the day wearing heavy gloves and masks to stay safe from the sparks. The floor is concrete and usually has pieces of iron rod or flat bars lying around waiting to be used. We don't have an office staff; it’s just the guys who do the actual welding. We take orders from people in the neighborhood who need a new gate or some repairs done on their metal frames. It’s straightforward work but it takes a lot of patience to get the joins right. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit around and wait for it to come back so we can finish a job. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time now. People know us by the sound of the metal being cut. We don’t do any fancy advertising, just the work we finish speaks for us when someone sees a gate we made down the street. It’s a bit messy and there’s soot on the walls, but that’s just what happens in a welding shop. We just keep at it, one weld at a time. It's hard work but we're used to the heat and the noise by now.
