Video People

Video People is situated at 32/2 Chamrajpet, right opposite Radha Store. If you can find the store, you can find us. We’ve been messing around with cameras and editing for a long time. Our space is filled with old monitors, tangled cables, and hard drives that have seen better days. It’s a bit dark inside because we keep the curtains closed to see the screens better, so it always feels like nighttime in here. People come in with all sorts of requests, from old wedding tapes they want to save to small projects they need help with. We spend hours sitting in these squeaky chairs, looking at frames and trying to get the timing right. It’s quiet work mostly, interrupted by the occasional customer walking in through the front door. Being in Chamrajpet means there is always a lot of activity outside, but once you step inside, it’s just the hum of the computers. We don’t have any fancy awards on the wall or a slick reception desk. It’s just a workshop where we deal with video. Sometimes the equipment acts up, and we have to spend half the day troubleshooting instead of working. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during long editing sessions. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way because we can actually focus on what we’re doing without too much fuss.
