Venus Computer

The shop is over on 79 Karnataka Sangha Rd in Jalahalli Village. It’s not a very big space, but it’s packed with monitors and old towers. There is always that smell of warm plastic and dust that comes from electronics. Most days, the workbench is covered in screws and loose wires because someone brought in a laptop that won't turn on. Jalahalli is a bit quieter than the main city parts, but the road out front still gets its share of traffic. We have a couple of stools for people to sit on while they wait, but they usually just stand and watch the work. The shelves have some keyboard boxes and mouse pads that have been there for a bit. It gets a little cramped when more than three people are inside at once. I spend a lot of time staring at blue screens and trying to figure out why a hard drive is making that clicking sound. The light from the window helps, but we have some bright tubes on the ceiling too. Sometimes a kid from the village comes in asking for a specific cable we haven’t seen in years. We try to keep things tidy, but with all the power strips and chargers, it's hard. The floor is just tile, and it’s seen a lot of boots over the years. It’s a simple life here, just fixing what breaks and talking about software when there is time.
