Venkateshwara Furniture

Dasarahalli is a busy place, and being here at Sarangpur with Venkateshwara Furniture means there is always noise from the saws and hammers. I started this shop because I know a bit about wood and noticed people moving into the new apartments nearby needed basic things like beds and stools. It is not a huge showroom with fancy lights. It is mostly just piles of plywood and some finished pieces standing near the door. The sawdust gets everywhere, so I am constantly dusting off the tables. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to move the bigger wardrobes because the road gets muddy, but we manage somehow. My brother helps me with the deliveries. We have an old truck that we use to carry stuff to the customers' houses. Usually, it is just people from the neighborhood coming in to ask about a simple bookshelf or a kitchen cabinet. We do not do any of that high-end designer stuff you see in the big malls. It is just solid wood and basic designs that are supposed to last for a long time. I spend my afternoons talking to the carpenters and making sure we do not run out of nails or polish. It is a lot of manual work, and by the evening, my back usually hurts, but it is good to see a finished sofa going out to a new home. We have been at this spot for some years now.
