Venkatesh Tent House

Our place is in Jayanagar, specifically the Nagdevi area at 524. We have been doing the tent house thing for a long time. Basically, we provide all the stuff you need for a local wedding or a small function. We have piles of folded tents, chairs, and tables stacked up in the back. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. When there is a big festival, we are working through the night to get everything set up on time. It’s tiring but the work is steady. Most of the people who come to us are neighbors or people who live a few streets over. We don't do anything too fancy, just the standard setups that people expect. The fabric for the tents needs a lot of washing and mending because it gets worn out from the sun and rain. I have a couple of guys who help with the loading and unloading of the trucks. The shop itself is mostly just a storage space with a small desk in the front where I keep the books. We don't use computers much, just a notebook to track who has what. Sometimes the chairs come back broken and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them. Jayanagar is a nice place to be based. We’ve seen many families grow up and come back to us for their children's events. We just keep our equipment ready and wait for the next person to come through the door with a celebration to plan.
