Veer Shiva Stores

Veer Shiva Stores is located right on Sultanpet Main Road, not far from the Chickpettai area. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded these narrow streets can get. It is a real struggle sometimes just to get the goods through the door because of the heavy traffic outside. We have got the shop at 23-56/78. It is an old building with a lot of character, and it does the job for us. We keep a little bit of everything in here. People often come in looking for small things they cannot find in the bigger modern malls. We do not have a computer system that works all the time, so we still use the old paper ledgers for a lot of our accounts. It is dusty work, moving heavy boxes and cleaning the shelves, but it is what we do. The neighbors are good people, and we often share a cup of chai together in the afternoons when things slow down. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit near the back door, but we just put a bucket there and get on with our work. We are not doing anything special, just selling the things that folks need for their daily lives. We stay open until late because that is when most of the local workers finish their shifts and come looking for supplies. It is a busy life.
