Ushakiran Tent House

Our shop, Ushakiran Tent House, is sitting right at number 102 on the Sarjapur Main Road in Doddakalasandra. It’s a pretty busy road, so there is always dust and noise coming from the traffic outside. We’ve been here for a long time, providing tents, poles, and chairs for all sorts of local events. The space we have is mostly used for storing poles, folded up tarps, and stacks of plastic chairs. It’s not the neatest place you’ll ever see, but we have a system for finding everything. When a wedding or a festival comes up in the neighborhood, we’re usually the ones loading up the rickshaws and trucks. It is heavy work, especially when the weather is hot and we have to set up large canopies in the sun. Our crew is small, mostly local guys who aren't afraid of a bit of sweat. We don't have a website or any flashy ads. Most people just walk in or give us a call because they saw our sign while driving past. We try to keep our prices fair for the neighbors. Sometimes the fabric gets a little faded or a chair leg gets wobbly, and we spend our afternoons doing repairs. It’s a simple business, really. We provide the shade and the seating, and the people bring the celebration. We like being part of the community here and seeing the events come together right on the streets around us, even when it gets a little chaotic.
