We've been running Urs Career Executive Search & Services here in Bangalore for a good while now. To be honest, most days it’s just us sitting in the office, looking through stacks of resumes and trying to match faces to names for various companies. It’s not always glamorous work, especially with the Bangalore traffic making everyone late for meetings, but we get it done. We handle executive searches, which basically means we spend a lot of time on the phone or on the computer. Our spot in Bangalore is where all the action happens, though sometimes it feels a bit cramped when the coffee machine breaks down. We aren’t some huge corporate giant with fancy elevators; we’re just a group of people who know how to find other people for specific roles. It’s a lot of back-and-forth emails and checking references to make sure everything adds up. Sometimes the candidates are great, and sometimes they don't show up, which is just part of the job really. We don’t have a script for how we talk to people. We just ask them what they’ve done and where they want to go. The city keeps growing, and there are always new offices opening up, so there is never a shortage of stuff to do. We just keep our heads down, stay organized, and try to keep the paperwork from piling up too high on the desks. It's a living, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Friday.
