Univercell

At Jayanagar III Block, you’ll find our shop at 14/128. This part of the neighborhood is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. At Univercell, we spend most of the day talking to people about their mobile phones. It’s not a very quiet place because there is always a demo unit playing a ringtone or someone testing out a camera. The floor is white tile that shows every footprint, so we are always pushing a broom around when things slow down. We have rows of boxes behind the counter and a lot of glass that we have to keep wiping finger marks off of. Customers come in with all kinds of questions about how to move their photos or why their apps are running slow. We don't have a script for how we talk to people; we just try to help them find something that works for their budget. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, making it a bit warm inside until the AC kicks in properly. We’ve got a little corner where we keep the spare batteries and the screen protectors that are a bit of a pain to put on without getting bubbles. It’s a straightforward shop where we focus on the hardware and making sure people leave with a phone that actually makes calls and connects to the internet. We stay open late most nights because that is when the office crowd stops by.
