Ujjni Steels

If you ever find yourself walking down Sardar Patrappa Road, you’ll see our shop at number 150. It’s a busy, dusty street where everyone is always in a hurry. We are Ujjni Steels, and we spend our days surrounded by metal. It’s heavy, loud, and can be pretty tiring, but it’s what we know. The shop floor is always covered in bits of scrap and we have racks of steel piled high against the walls. We don't have any air conditioning or comfortable chairs for people to sit in. It is a working shop, plain and simple. We spend most of our time cutting pieces of steel to the right size or unloading a new shipment from a truck that’s blocking the narrow road outside. People come to us when they need specific materials for a job they are doing nearby. We don't do much in the way of talking ourselves up. We just show people what we have in stock and get to work. SP Road is a tough place to work sometimes because of the noise and the crowds, but it’s where the trade happens. We’ve been here for years and we know the other shop owners on the block. It’s a community of sorts, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges. We keep the doors open, the tools ready, and just get through the orders as they come in each morning.
