Our office is up on the second floor of number 24, Netaji Subhas Road. We are in room number 23. This building is quite old and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s a good location for us. Netaji Subhas Road is one of those places that is always full of life and chaos, with people shouting and vehicles honking all day long. Our room is small and we have it filled with old desks and stacks of files that go almost to the ceiling. We’ve been here for many years. It’s a modest setup and we don’t have a lot of modern bells and whistles. We spend most of our time on the telephone or typing out things on our old computers. We drink quite a few cups of tea throughout the day to keep us going. The windows stay shut mostly to keep out the dust from the street. It’s just a few of us working here, so it never feels too crowded unless we have a lot of files to move. We don’t have any mission statements or fancy slogans on the walls. We just come in, do what needs to be done for our clients, and then go home. It’s a very normal way of working. People who know us just come straight up to the second floor. We’re just a small enterprise doing our bit in a very busy part of the city.
