Ube Plastics & Chemicals

Our shop is located at B-35 in the K.S.S.I.D.C. Industrial Estate down in Veerasandra. It’s right off Hosur Road, which is always packed with trucks and commuters heading out of Bangalore. We work with plastics and various chemicals, so there is always a particular smell in the air around our unit. It’s not a bad smell, just the smell of work being done. The floor is usually covered in little plastic pellets if we’re not careful with the bags. We have a few machines that run most of the day. It’s a bit of a small space for everything we do, but we make it work by keeping things as tidy as we can. The guys in the back have been doing this for years and they can tell if a batch is right just by looking at it. We don't have a fancy website or a big sales team. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a long time. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of being in an industrial estate. We spend our lunch breaks sitting together outside when the weather is nice. It’s a simple setup. We just try to do a decent job with every order that comes through the door and hope the traffic on Hosur Road isn't too bad.
