U S Steel Co. is based at No. 12 on Tumkur Road. We are situated right in the Muneshwara Peenya Industrial Area, which is a place that never really stays quiet. Most people find us by looking for the Peenya Industrial Area Police Station because we are just a short walk away from there. Being in a major industrial zone means there is always a lot of dust in the air and the sound of heavy trucks passing by on the main road. The building is simple and looks like most of the other warehouses around here. Inside, it is mostly about the work. We have our yard space and the small office where we keep track of the inventory. It is a practical setup without any bells or whistles. There is no big flashing sign, just our name painted near the gate. The area gets very crowded during the shift changes, and you can see workers from all the different factories heading to the local tea stalls for a break. We do our own thing here, dealing with the steel and making sure the logs are where they should be. The office has those old metal cabinets and a few computers that have seen better days. It is not a place for lounging around, as there is always something that needs to be moved or checked by the staff. We are just a group of people working in the heart of Peenya, trying to get through the list.
