Tummykhush is tucked away in J P Nagar at 5/283. It is not a very big place, just a corner where we do our thing. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so setting up here made sense. The name is something we came up with because we wanted people to leave feeling full. We spend most of our time in the back kitchen. It can get pretty hot in there during the summers. We don’t have a massive menu or anything. We just stick to what we know how to make. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we first opened our doors at this address. There are more buildings now and more cars on the street. Sometimes it’s hard for people to find parking right outside 5/283, but they still manage to come in. We do most of the cooking and serving ourselves. It’s a family-run kind of setup, so don’t expect a waiter in a suit. We use regular plates and keep the tables wiped down as best as we can. Some days are slower than others. On rainy days, it’s mostly just us watching the street. We like the regulars who come in every week and know our names. It’s just a normal business in a normal part of town. We keep the lights on and keep the stove going for whoever stops by J P Nagar.
