We've been here at 805 Rajajinagar Bhimpore Gidc for a while now. The name on the door is Tumkur Grain Merchants Co-Operative Bank Ltd. It’s a bit of a long name but people around Hazira Road just know where we are. Dealing with grains and money stuff is what happens here every day. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything. We just open the doors and get to work. People come in with their papers and we try to get things sorted. Being a co-operative means things are done a bit differently than those big city banks. It’s more about the people who actually use the place. Sometimes the line gets long on Mondays but we just keep going. It’s hot outside on Hazira Road most of the time so people like coming in for a bit. We handle the accounts and the small loans for the folks around here. It isn't complicated work but it needs to be done right. You can find us right there in the Gidc area. Most people just walk over from their shops or homes nearby. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture. Just desks and chairs and the ledgers. It feels like a community spot as much as a bank. We see the same faces every week and that's how we like it. Just regular folks doing their business without any big fuss. Sometimes we even forget to change the calendar. That is basically who we are and what we do at the office.
