Tirumala Stores

Tirumala Stores is located on Kumbar Street in the older part of Bangalore City. The 560002 area is always bustling with activity. Our shop is a bit narrow, so we have to stack things high up towards the ceiling. We use a small ladder to reach the top shelves where we keep the less common items. Most of the day is spent handling bags of grains and pulses. It gets quite loud with all the noise from Kumbar Street coming inside. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for decades. We know their names and what they usually need for their kitchens. Sometimes the deliveries arrive all at once, and the floor gets covered in cardboard. We just work through it. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We don't have any fancy displays or bright neon lights. It is just a straightforward place where you can get your groceries. The air in the shop smells like a mix of spices and incense. We open up early and close once the street starts to quiet down at night. It’s a simple, honest business. We just focus on keeping the stock full and the customers happy with what they get. That’s how we have always done things here in Bangalore. It is a humble place that serves the people of this busy neighborhood every single day without any fancy complications.
