Times Of India - Times Jobs

We’re over at 39/2 Doopanhalli in Bangalore. Most people know the name Times Of India, and we’re the part that handles the Times Jobs side of things. It’s a busy office. There’s always someone running around with some papers or talking loudly on a headset. We deal with a lot of volume here. Since we’re part of a bigger name, people expect a lot, but inside the office, it feels like any other local workplace. We’ve got stacks of newspapers everywhere and the air conditioner makes a weird humming noise in the afternoon. We don’t really do the whole corporate polish thing in our daily interactions. We’re just a bunch of regular employees trying to make sure the job listings are accurate and that people can find what they’re looking for. It’s a lot of data entry and talking to employers. Bangalore is a big place for jobs, so we’re never really bored. Sometimes the systems go down and we all have to wait around, but usually, it’s just steady work. We don’t have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just want to make sure the site works and that people get their ads posted correctly. It’s a straightforward job and we’ve been doing it at this location for a good while now. We know the city well and we know how the job market moves here.
